The IVF fresh cycle is a process by which the sperm fertilises the egg outside the body in a dish and the embryo grown in a carefully controlled environment until it is suitable for transfer. The process usually takes about 2-3 weeks and involves carefully stimulating the woman to grow more than one egg in her ovaries followed by egg retrieval and the subsequent treatment of the eggs with the sperm to create the embryos. The embryos are grown ideally to day 5 when they are called Blastocysts and are graded according to their quality before being put back inside the woman’s uterus.
