Introduction

Dr. Maha finished her initial medical qualification in India where she also did a postgraduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Maha moved to the UK with her family where she has gone onto achieve even more accolades not just in her academic qualifications but also with her experience in the treatment of patients with subfertility.

She has also been through a rigorous training programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology she went onto finishing a Masters qualification in Bristol university in Reproductive Medicine and Foetal Development, completing a thesis on male factor infertility research.

Experience

Having worked in the UK as Medical Director of CARE Fertility Nottingham, one of UK’s largest private IVF provider, Dr. Maha has experience in the treatment of the length and breadth of fertility problems ranging from the simple processes of treatment as in Ovulation induction and tracking, but also in  helping couples through procedures and treatment options as in IUI, IVF and ICSI, Male subfertility treatment and enhancement, egg freezing, use of sperm donation, egg donation and preservation of male fertility.

She led one of UK’s pioneering IVF clinic which specialised in the treatment of couples with recurrent implantation failure, she is well versed with thoroughly investigating and treating implantation issues associated with the immune system and deficiencies. She is also well versed in the use of genetic screening both PGD and PGS for the exclusion of aneuploidy having practised this for years in the UK.

Dr. Maha is also an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist treating patients at SJOG Midland where she is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Special Interests & Services

Dr. Maha has keen interest in clinical risk mitigation, having been the clinical and executive lead of quality and clinical risk in the UK and strongly feels that its minimisation helps to empower patients through their fertility journeys.  She also has a great track record as an educator and researcher with some key publications in subfertility particularly with reference to implantation failure, Paediatric Gynaecology and male subfertility, having finished a research degree on this in Bristol University where it formed part of her thesis.

Dr. Maha’s Gynaecological expertise extends to the treatment of menstrual disorders, fibroid uterus, uterine anatomical abnormalities including septae and polyps, tubal issues which require salpingectomy and removal of ovarian cysts and endometriomas and  the surgical treatment of endometriosis laparoscopically to aid and increase the chances of success with fertility treatments.

Publications and Teaching

She was also the subeditor of the StratOG which is a leading online educative program for specialists doing the MRCOG and served as the editor of its subfertility module for 10 years before stepping down. She continues to be involved with the program by supporting and mentoring Junior colleagues to contribute to the program. Recognised for ground-breaking contributions to the field, Dr. Maha is not just a fertility specialist; she is your dedicated partner in the journey to parenthood.

Having spent more than 20 years in the treatment of infertile couples, and more than 10 years working for one of UKs pioneering and largest IVF clinics in Nottingham where she served as Medical director, she has now moved to Perth, WA, where she hopes her experience and knowledge will continue to serve to help couples fruitfully through their fertility journey.
